Success in the Moment

Imagine that you have a big project to finish. The list of tasks is overwhelming. Much of what you have to do is unfamiliar, and you have a lot to learn in little time. Determined to succeed, you invest every waking moment.

Although you try to live in the moment, you have a tendency to focus on the future. Concern over tomorrow’s outcome makes it hard to concentrate on tasks today.

Over time, the daily grind and added pressure get to you. Rather than push forward with confidence, exhaustion prompts you to set your project aside. After all, time just doesn’t seem to be on your side.

Months go by, and you decide to pick the project back up. Determined to finish this time, you resolve to approach things differently.

The project is still significant, and the list of tasks is long. But you’re not overwhelmed. You have a lot to learn, and time is still limited. Even so, you’re able to stay focused. Setting small, realistic goals for yourself makes the project feel more manageable.

Focused on the task at hand, you’re more productive than ever. Living in the moment allows you to accomplish what you need to do today. You push forward with confidence while celebrating small successes along the way.

In the end, success is a mindset. You set the standards for you. Don’t get too far ahead of yourself, and don’t expect to have everything figured out. Do your best today, and success will come tomorrow.

One step may seem insignificant today. Many small steps have the power to change tomorrow. Live in the moment, vision in sight. Keep your feet on the ground, yet reach for the sky.
